Governor Ayotte has signed HB 1815, which seeks to redefine the State’s responsibility within the broken public education funding system. The bill was passed by the Senate yesterday. 

The New Hampshire House has voted 177-159 to Indefinitely Postpone HB 1704, the latest union busting bill proposed by anti-labor lawmakers who want to weaken workers’ rights and collective bargaining.

The New Hampshire Senate voted on two identical bills that sought to redefine the State’s responsibility within the broken public education funding system. The Senate voted 16-8 in support of HB 1815, which now goes to the Governor. The Senate tabled SB 659.

Today, the New Hampshire House voted 177-160 to pass HB 1300, their latest attempt to arbitrarily cap local school budgets. 

Today, the New Hampshire Senate voted 16-8 in support of SB 434 as amended, yet another book ban bill that would jeopardize students’ access to books, performances, and other school materials based on the personal politics or beliefs of one person. This bill’s passage comes just months after Governor Ayotte vetoed HB 324, which was sustained in the House by a vote of 183-167.

In a victory for academic freedom and education equity, the U.S. Department of Education conceded the end of its February 14, 2025, “Dear Colleague” directive that sought to restrict diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts in schools and higher education institutions nationwide.

Today, the New Hampshire House Labor Committee held a public hearing on HB 1704, the latest union busting bill proposed by anti-labor lawmakers who want to weaken workers’ rights and collective bargaining. At the time of the public hearing, 761 people had signed in to oppose HB 1704; 21 individuals had signed in to support HB HB 1704.

Recently, it was reported that the New Hampshire House Education Committee Chair sent messages through a Signal chat group advocating for 'segregated schools'.
