NEA-New Hampshire Election Information
NEA-New Hampshire is led and run by its members. Our Executive Board is made up of members who are elected by members in their region. The 2026 NEA-NH Election will open on March 8 at 12:01 am and close on March 22 at 5:00 p.m. Members of record as of January 15, 2026 are eligible to vote. (NEA-NH Bylaws state that student members, associate members, and staff are not eligible to vote.)
Filing Period Deadline:
The filing period to run for NEA-New Hampshire offices closes at 5:00 p.m. January 15, 2026. All candidates for office must file in writing for the office for which they wish to run. All that is needed is a simple statement of your intent to be a candidate and the office for which you are running. For example, “It is my intent to run for Executive Board member for the North Country Region.” Include your name and the local association in which you are a member. This statement needs to be sent to:

Special Election for RA Delegates in Capital, Lakes, and Western Regions
Members in the Capital, Lakes and Western Regions will be choosing 1 delegate from each region to attend the 2026 NEA Representative Assembly. Members will be eligible to vote for one candidate in their region. Voting will open at 5:00 am on May 4th and will close at 5:00 pm on May 8th. The voting process will be the same as used for NEA-NH internal elections. You may vote by following the directions in the Association Voting email which will be sent to each member’s email of record, or by visiting the NEA-NH website and following the instructions to vote.
Candidate statements received by the NEA-NH Elections Committee will be posted on the NEA-NH website and emailed to each member in their region.

Capital Region
- Gayle Sweeney, Merrimack Valley Support Staff: As a member of NEA for 26 years I will continue to represent and advocate for public education that impacts students and professionals.
- Sarah Barnewall, Hopkinton EA:
- Matt Castagna, Bow EA: My election to the Representative Assembly means having commitments to ALL educators through supporting policies that ensure we, and our students, continue to thrive.
Lakes Region
- Troy Harris, Plymouth Regional Educators Association: Troy Harris for Representative Delegate. Having served as a local delegate, president, chief negotiator, and grievance representative leaves me prepared and ready to serve you.
- Jennifer Simon, Inter-Lakes Support Staff: I’ll bring executive board and local experience to advocate fiercely for our educators and students at the national level in this ever-changing education climate.
Western Region
- Rebecca Vinduska, Sugar River EA: I am a Science and Social Studies Teacher at Claremont Middle School in Claremont who will be a strong advocate, good listener and excellent communicator.
