NEA-NH President Megan Tuttle marks American Education Week by sharing her appreciation for the dedicated educators who help make our schools safe, welcoming places for all students to learn.
It is tempting to, once again, provide you with a litany of challenges we face as educators. But you, most of all, already know what they are. Instead, what I want to talk about are those things that give me hope for the future. These hopes are grounded in recent events in New Hampshire.
As educators, we’ve all seen the shift in schools—students constantly tethered to screens, even during instructional time. New Hampshire’s new bell‑to‑bell cellphone prohibition marks a critical step forward for student learning and well‑being. NEA‑New Hampshire proudly supports this policy because it is grounded in educator experience.
