Get Involved: Protect Public Schools

Educators and parents know that New Hampshire’s students need more opportunities to succeed, and we need to strengthen our public schools where 90% of students learn.

Thursday, June 26 from 9 - 10:30 am – Read IN to Keep Bok Bans OUT at the NH State House: Grab your favorite banned book (or pick one up from us!) and join us for a Read-In to Keep Book Bans Out—right outside Governor Kelly Ayotte’s office. We’re gathering parents, educators, students, librarians, and community members to peacefully read from frequently banned books and send a clear message: New Hampshire kids deserve the freedom to learn, not censorship. 📚 HB324, a dangerous book ban bill, will soon go to Governor Ayotte’s desk—and could be acted on any day. But she still has the power to veto it. By reading the very books this bill targets, we’re standing up for kids’ access to diverse stories, inclusive education, and the right to see themselves—and others—reflected in what they read. why IDEA is important

"Students with disabilities weren't educated in most cases."

In 1975, Congress passed what is now known as the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), requiring schools to provide equal access to education for all students with disabilities. The landmark law ushered in an era of inclusion and equity. The current assault on public schools could unravel that progress, leaving students without the support they need.
