NEA-New Hampshire Recommends Chris Pappas for Congress

Granite State Educators Back Chris to Continue Representing First District

CONCORD, NH – Today, NEA-New Hampshire (NEA-NH) formally recommended Congressman Chris Pappas for reelection to the United States Congress in New Hampshire Congressional District 1.

“I’m proud to earn the recommendation of NEA-New Hampshire. As a product of New Hampshire public schools, I know firsthand the incredible impact our educators’ hard work has on our communities and the next generation of Granite Staters. I will continue working to ensure every teacher receives the support, resources, and respect they deserve, and every student has access to a quality education,” said Congressman Chris Pappas.

“Throughout his time in Congress, Chris Pappas has been a strong voice and vote for New Hampshire public school educators and our students,” said Megan Tuttle, NEA-NH President. “NEA-New Hampshire is proud to recommend Chris Pappas for reelection because we know he will continue to work with educators and communities to ensure that every student has access to safe, just, and high-quality public schools, colleges, and universities. Granite State students, educators, and families can count on Chris to continue advocating for them.”

Congressman Pappas was a co-sponsor of the Protecting the Right to Organize (PRO) Act, comprehensive labor legislation to protect workers’ right to stand together and bargain for fairer wages, better benefits, and safer workplaces. In addition, Pappas voted against an amendment that would have created a national private school voucher program by decimating Title I and he opposed a continuing resolution that would have unwound the pause on federal student loan payments and reinstated 157,000 loans through the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program.

About NEA-New Hampshire

NEA-New Hampshire is the largest union of public employees in the state. Founded in 1854, the New Hampshire State Teachers Association became one of the “founding ten” state education associations that formed the National Education Association in 1857. Known today as NEA-NH, our mission to advocate for the children of New Hampshire and public-school employees, and to promote lifelong learning, remains true after more than 165 years. Our members are public school employees in all stages of their careers, including classroom teachers and other certified professionals, staff and instructors at public higher education institutions, students preparing for a teaching career, education support personnel and those retired from the profession.
