Educator Vaccine Update

The following information was given at the Governor’s Press Conference today: Beginning 3/12, schools can begin giving vaccines to staff. Check with your school district to see if they have plans to administer vaccines to staff.  This will most likely be the fastest and easiest way to receive your vaccine. The state’s Vaccine Management System, VMS, will start taking educator appointments on 3/17. Children’s Fund Steps in to Supply Thousands of Child-Sized Masks

Masks only work if they fit. Since the beginning of the pandemic, mask wearing has been recommended as an effective method of preventing the transmission of the virus. Many schools have required their students and staff to wear masks while in the building for in-person or hybrid learning scenarios. But masks only work if they fit. And for a growing number of schools returning to some form of in-person instruction, finding child-size masks was an issue. CONCORD, NH – On Wednesday, President Joe Biden announced that he is directing every state to prioritize COVID-19 vaccinations for front line educators, with the goal to have every teacher, school staff person, and childcare worker receive their first dose of one of the approved vaccines by the end of March.
