The first installment of Homeroom 603, NEA-New Hampshire’s official podcast, opens with a topic that just doesn’t seem to go away: vouchers.
SB193, currently on the floor of the NH House, will rob more than $85 million from our public schools in the next five years to pay for private and religious school tuition. Every school district will be impacted if this bill become law. Towns will be forced to increase property taxes to cover the loss in school aid from the state.
NEA-NH President, Megan Tuttle, covers the dangers of SB193, including: the fallacy of portability, how vouchers hurt public schools, how vouchers increase the cost of education, and how you can help stop SB193 from becoming law.
