Soon the political ads, emails and phone calls will end. And we will be left to deal with those who were elected to office – the officials who will vote on laws regarding public education, collective bargaining, fair pay, and health care for public employees.
Will these officials care about kids? About teachers? About our families? Or will they believe that cutting and slashing budgets is the only way to solve problems? Will they see educators as professionals or as scapegoats?
This is why it is so important that you, your family and friends vote this Tuesday. Because it matters. From the size of your classroom to the size of your paycheck. From the first bell to retirement, these are the people who make life-altering decisions about us and we cannot afford to sit it out.
