In partnership with BetterLesson, NEA is recruiting applicants for 65 Master Teacher positions to create lessons aligned with the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) for the 2014-2015 school year.
To qualify, these Master Teachers will be exceptional instructors currently teaching elementary, middle school or high school science. They have track records of supporting student learning and are proven architects of student-centered lessons. They are demonstrably grounded in 21st century STEM skills and are capable and confident with technology, ready to serve as ambassadors for the NGSS.
The NEA/BetterLesson Master Teachers will receive a $15,000 stipend, and the priority application deadline is May 16, 2014.
The 96 NEA Master Teachers currently crafting Common Core-aligned lessons in English/Language arts and mathematics are finding the work to be personally rewarding and professionally fulfilling. This next phase offers more of our members the opportunity to lead instructional practice with their union’s support.
